Time / Task Manager
The Agentic AI Time / Task Tracker allows you to connect AbleTime with however you interact with AI Agents, whether it's in a browser chat window or custom application. The Agent is given all the tools necessary to track draft time entries and manage tasks — quietly in the background — while you work.
Draft entries
As you work, the Agent keeps a running draft of your time: how many minutes were spent, when the work started, a short description, and the task it was for. Drafts are private to you — they don't appear in reports or billing, and they don't become recorded time until they're accepted.
You accept drafts in AbleTime whenever you're ready to review them. The Agent can also accept its own drafts — though never another person's — once you have turned on Agent may commit (accept) my time entries under Privacy & Notifications; until then, drafts wait for you in the app. Any draft can be edited or deleted before it's accepted.
Tasks
When the work needs a task that doesn't exist yet, the Agent creates one — title and description together — and keeps it up to date as the work moves along. New tasks start in backlog or todo. A task moves into doing once time is recorded against it (it can't be moved there by hand), and it can only be marked done once that time is on the record.
Closing a Task
To close a task, you must first accept the drafts time entries you have logged against it. You can do this on the Time Tracker page by clicking on the draft and choosing Accept, by opening the Productivity Drawer Accept Panel, or (if you have enabled this action) tell your agent to accept them on your behalf.
Comments
The Agent can also comment on a task. A task that is done or archived won't accept new comments, so a wrap-up note should be made before the work closes.
Finding work
To figure out where time and tasks belong, the Agent can search your tasks by text, browse your projects and their categories, see who work can be assigned to, and read any task in full. You can also direct towards which task you would like to record time against.
Every tool the Agent can use is described on MCP Tools. To get connected, see MCP Authentication.
You can read more about this in the Time / Task Manager Guide.
