Printing and Export

All three report types support exporting and printing. The available formats and options vary by report.

Note that all exports reflect the data currently loaded in the report. Because report data is cached for five minutes, very recent time entries may not appear in exports until the cache refreshes.

Summary Report

Click the Export button in the Summary Report toolbar. The following formats are available:

  • CSV — Downloads a comma-separated file of the filtered time entries.

  • Excel — Downloads an Excel workbook of the filtered time entries.

  • JSON — Downloads a JSON file of the filtered time entries.

  • PDF — Generates a PDF document and downloads it.

  • Print — Opens a print-ready view in a new browser window.

CSV, Excel, and JSON exports are generated locally in your browser. PDF and Print are generated on the server.

All exports respect the currently active filters, date range, and view tab (Summary or List).

Summary View Print Layout

When the Summary tab is active, the PDF/Print output includes:

  • A header with the title "AbleTime Report Summary", total hours, billable hours, the date range, and the print date.

  • The chart — bar or line, matching your current chart type selection.

  • A grouped table matching the current primary category and aggregation method, with the same columns as the on-screen data grid.

List View Print Layout

When the List tab is active, the PDF/Print output includes:

  • A header with the title "AbleTime Report List", total hours, billable hours, the date range, and the print date.

  • A flat table of time entries with columns: Date, User, Project, Category, Task (if Time Flow is enabled), Description (if enabled), Time, and Billable.

Progress Report

Click the Export button in the Progress Report toolbar. CSV, Excel, and JSON download the task ledger data. For PDF and Print, a dialog opens where you choose which sections to include.

The Progress Report print dialog presents checkboxes for each section:

Charts:

  • Scope Burned

  • Throughput

  • Velocity

  • Lead Time

  • Accuracy

  • Momentum

Data:

  • Capacity Breakdown

  • Ledger

Use Select All or Select None to quickly toggle all sections. Then choose Print (opens a print-ready view) or PDF (downloads a PDF).

The Progress Report print output includes:

  • A summary header with total scope, actual hours, tasks done, tasks in progress, average lead time, and average accuracy.

  • Each selected chart, rendered as a static image.

  • A Project Summary table (always included when any chart is selected).

  • A Capacity Breakdown table (if selected).

  • A Ledger table (if selected) with columns: Ref, State, Title, Project, Category, Assigned, Priority, Scope, Actual, Start, and End.

  • A footer with the generation date.

Activity Report

The Activity Report itself does not have a direct export button. To export a specific user's data, click the user in the Activity Report grid to open the User Report modal. From there, click the download icon to export as CSV, Excel, PDF, or Print.

The User Report print layout includes the user's name, date range, generation date, summary metrics (total hours, billable hours, total entries), and a project-by-project breakdown with category details and colour coding.
