Project Manager Settings
The Project Manager tab controls how Project Manager calculates durations, which tasks appear when tracking time, and which optional features are active. Open Organization Settings and select the Project Manager tab.
Only the organization owner can change these settings. They take effect once Project Manager is turned on under Application Settings.
Duration Calculation
Exclude Weekends From Durations, checked by default, leaves Saturday and Sunday out when the board counts how many days an item spans, so a Task from Friday to Monday counts as two days rather than four.
The same setting applies to reports and dashboards: when it is checked, values such as Velocity count only Monday to Friday. See Progress Reports for more detail on these calculations.
Time Entry Filtering
These settings control which Project Manager tasks appear when users select a task while creating a time entry. Narrowing the list helps users find relevant tasks faster and prevents time from being logged against items that are not yet actionable. The three checkboxes are unchecked by default.
Lookahead — limits the task list to items due within the chosen number of days from today. The default is 30 Days.
Hide items with incomplete dependencies — when checked, tasks whose parent dependency has not been completed are hidden from the time entry task list.
Hide items beyond current cycle — when checked, tasks scheduled beyond the current milestone cycle are hidden from the time entry task list.
Hide items not matching user capacity — when checked, tasks linked to capacity types that are not assigned to the current user are hidden from the time entry task list.
Features
These checkboxes enable or disable optional Project Manager capabilities across your organization. All of them are unchecked by default. Enable Epics and Capacity Planning show a Pro badge and cannot be checked when your plan does not include them.
Backlog and Epics
Enable Backlog — adds a Backlog column to the Flow Board for items that are tracked but not yet part of the active workflow. Backlog items are excluded from the Timeline. See Tasks and Ledger for more on the Backlog.
Allow Backlog Hours — when checked, users can log time against backlog items: backlog tasks appear under their own tab in the time entry task picker. When unchecked, recording time against a backlog task moves it out of the backlog and into doing. This checkbox is nested under Enable Backlog and is disabled when Backlog is turned off.
Enable Epics — allows grouping related tasks under Epics. This checkbox is nested under Enable Backlog and is disabled when Backlog is turned off, because Epics require the Backlog to function.
Capacity and Budget
Capacity Planning lets you assign skill-based capacity types to team members and to tasks, and adds a Capacity page under Settings; see Capacity Types.
Show Budget Fields shows a budget field on Projects, Milestones, and Epics, and a budget line on the Epic page, where owners and admins also see how much has been burnt. The amount burnt comes from the Cost on the project's categories, applied to the time recorded.
Stages
Enable Stages adds sub-stages within the Backlog and Doing columns, such as splitting Doing into Design, Development, and Review, and adds a Stages page under Settings where you manage them. See Managing Projects.
