Timer

The timer lets you start tracking time immediately and creates a time entry when you stop.

Starting the Timer

Click the stopwatch icon to start a timer. It starts a progressive timer that will continue until you stop the active timer. Only one timer can be running at any time, and you cannot add other time entries while a timer is running.

Some timers (i.e. those in the Productivity Drawer) are linked to specific Categories/Tasks. If a generic timer button is clicked, it will chose the default Project/Category if one has been selected by your organization's admin, otherwise it will select the first one available.

While the Timer is Running

The toolbar displays the category color, category name, and elapsed time in H:MM format.

  • Calendar view — The current time line turns red and the running entry appears on the grid with a red indicator.

  • List view — A red circle appears next to the active entry and the elapsed time updates each minute.

Stopping the Timer

You can stop the timer in several ways:

  • Click the stop button (square icon) in the toolbar.

  • Click the red current time line in the calendar view.

  • Click the stop icon next to the entry in list view.

Timers will only run a maximum length, as determined by your organization admin) and will never run into the following calendar day.

If you do not see the timer in the toolbar, it may be turned off. You can enable the timer bar in your account preferences under Time Entry.
