Time Flow Settings
The Time Flow tab controls how Time Flow calculates durations, which tasks appear when tracking time, and which optional features are active. Open Organization Settings and select the Time Flow tab.
This tab is only available when Time Flow is enabled under Application Settings and is included in your subscription level.
Duration Calculation
Exclude Weekends From Durations — when checked, Saturday and Sunday are not counted when calculating how many days an item spans on the Time Flow board. For example, a Task starting on Friday and ending on Monday would count as two days instead of four.
Exclude Weekends is used in reporting and dashboard calculations. When Show Weekend is false, only Monday-Friday are used when calculating values such as Velocity. See Time Flow / Pulse Dashboard and Progress Reports for more detail on these calculations.
Time Entry Filtering
These settings control which Time Flow tasks appear when users select a task while creating a time entry. Narrowing the list helps users find relevant tasks faster and prevents time from being logged against items that are not yet actionable.
Lookahead — limits the task list to items due within a certain number of days from today. Options: All Items (no limit), 7 Days, 30 Days, or 60 Days.
Hide items with incomplete dependencies — when checked, tasks whose parent dependency has not been completed are hidden from the time entry task list.
Hide items beyond current cycle — when checked, tasks scheduled beyond the current milestone cycle are hidden from the time entry task list.
Hide items not matching user capacity — when checked, tasks linked to capacity types that are not assigned to the current user are hidden from the time entry task list.
Features
These checkboxes enable or disable optional Time Flow capabilities across your organization.
Backlog and Epics
Enable Backlog — adds a Backlog column to the Flow Board for items that are tracked but not yet part of the active workflow. Backlog items appear in a separate column and are excluded from the Gantt timeline view. (see #Tasks and Ledger for more details on Backlog).
Enable Epics — allows grouping related tasks under Epics. This checkbox is nested under Enable Backlog and is disabled when Backlog is turned off, because Epics require the Backlog to function.
Capacity and Budget
Capacity Planning — enables capacity type assignments for users and tasks. When active, you can assign skill-based capacity types to team members and to tasks, allowing you to track allocation across categories. For details on managing capacity types, see Capacity Types.
Show Budget Fields — displays budget fields on Projects and Milestones. When enabled, you can set hourly cost rates on tasks for internal budget burn analysis.
Stages
Enable Stages — adds sub-stages within the Backlog and Doing columns on the Flow Board. Stages let you further categorize items within each workflow state (for example, splitting Doing into Design, Development, and Review). See Managing Projects for more detail on Stages.
