Overview

AbleTime speaks MCP — the Model Context Protocol, the open standard that lets AI Agents use applications on your behalf. It's the same protocol behind the connectors in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and most modern AI tools, which means the Agent you already work with can work in AbleTime too.

How it's used

You connect your Agent once: paste a URL and your access token into an app you configure yourself, or approve a connector from a browser platform. There's nothing to install and nothing to run. From then on, AbleTime is simply available to your Agent — while you work with it on anything else, it can record time and manage tasks without you ever switching apps.

How it works

When an Agent connects, AbleTime hands it a list of tools. Each tool is a single action — read something, write something — and the Agent picks whichever the moment calls for, the same way you'd choose what to click.

Every call is made as you. The connection carries your identity and your role, so the Agent sees what you can see and does what you can do — nothing more. There are no separate machine permissions to manage: your access is its access.

What's served over MCP

AbleTime's MCP serves the Agentic AI Time / Task Tracker — draft time entries and task management while you work — covered on Time & Task Tracking. A second endpoint, currently in beta, adds project management: assignments, priorities, dependencies, and scheduling.

To get connected, see Connecting an agent. The full tool list is on Tools, and the Agent's behavior can be tuned on Customizing.
